BLYTH'S REED WARBLER
Interesting development: A couple of years ago a bird was found down St. Cath's and reported as a singing marsh warbler. At the time I took the opportunity to record its song and filed it away as a marsh warbler; then dug it out recently for 'local' assessment. Some doubt was raised about the initial ID and expert opinion was sought (as far away as Sweden); and it was soon reassessed as a BLYTH's reed warbler. This would be a first for the island.
