Brading
Really strong winds from the west today and summer seems to have left us. A few sand martins over the marsh but little else. However something, a very skulking something, was making some calls, so I recorded it. A gropper came to my mind but not being overly familiar with their call it's only a guess. Not a great recording due to the strong winds.
(Edit: asked my experienced brother and he said it sounds like a gropper. Another experienced birder also agreed).
Earlier this year a spring gropper West high down:
Unrelated, but back in June whilst on holiday took some recordings. Funky sedge was just outside my bro's.
Plus some Crossbills g-liping..

Brading
Stopped at Sandown canoe lake first to check over any gulls but the only really noteworthy one was a lone LBBG that bathed and then headed off north.
On to Brading and parked up near the Yar bridge and walked to laundry lane. Nothing new of note really, but a pleasant walk. Saw a snipe again.
