Lesser grey shrike - Brading/Carpenters

Found by a local birder this morning, I had to wait til this evening to try for it - luckily it was still there and showing well - on a beautiful (now cooler) evening..

Garden - hummingbird hawkmoth

Often as I drive in the first thing I look at is the valerian to see if it has attracted anything. It did today. Last year a painted lady was in the same spot.

Seawatch - St caths

The weather has flipped from warm and calm to much cooler and windier - and forecast to get stronger. Early doors with strong southerlies I headed for the 'point'. Soon picked up manxies moving east and ended up with 124E/22W. One probable balearic too.

Firecrest - heard one singing today. Interestingly it was in the same area as the one that was frequently heard and seen this time last year.
