Skua

St Caths - seawatch 15:30 - 17:40

All heading east with an east wind:

Had one skua pass. Probably arctic. (Really must invest in a decent scope).
Terns (commics)
Few gannets
Brent geese 6 - notable
And one raptor appeared to come in off - hobby? It headed north...

A bit sloppy with the observations but a lovely evening

Firecrest

Heard one this evening. I wont disclose where exactly, for obvious reasons, but notable and quite unusual to hear one singing 'locally.'
Requires volume and probably best heard through headphones. Bird not seen.

Update: 2nd day singing 05/05/16 with lesser whitethroat and goldcrest, a clearer recording

Little ringed plover 1
Swift 8

LRP - the flight shots show the diagnostic plain wings. A ringed plover would show more prominent white wing bars.
